Rayon Embroidery Thread

The composition of rayon

Rayon is a man-made fiber composed of cellulose, an organic compound that makes up the main building block of plants. It is also such a composition that makes rayon many of the same functions as other fibers, such as cotton and linen fibers. Its shape is toothed.

Advantages and disadvantages of rayon

Advantages: Rayon fiber is a medium and heavy fiber with relatively good strength and abrasion resistance. It has hydrophilic properties (the test moisture regain is 11%), and it can not only be dry cleaned, but also can be washed with water when people take good care of it. And it does not produce static electricity and pilling, the important thing is that its price is not expensive.

Disadvantages: Rayon fiber loses about 30%~50% of its strength when wet, so be very careful when washing with water, otherwise it is easy to break, and the strength will recover after drying. In addition, the elasticity and resilience of rayon are compared Poor, it will shrink greatly after washing, and it is also prone to mold and insects.

Uses of rayon

The most common uses of rayon fibers are in clothing, decoration and industrial fields, such as: tops, t-shirts, underwear, indoor hanging fabrics, medical and health products, etc.

Identification of rayon

The color of rayon is closer to nature, the hand feels slightly rough, and it has a cold and wet feeling. The way to distinguish it is to take a piece of thread and hold it tightly in your hand. After you release it, there will be more wrinkles in the rayon, which can be seen after leveling. to the streaks. And according to the characteristics of rayon mentioned above, it is easy to break after being wet, because the elasticity under wet and dry conditions is significantly different.

Compared with polyester embroidery thread, the advantage of rayon embroidery thread is that the color can be closer to nature, and the stability of rayon embroidery thread is higher than that of polyester embroidery thread, and there will be no obvious shrinkage after repeated friction and pulling of the embroidery machine. (This point can be used to ignite the threads of the two materials separately, and the polyester will shrink when it encounters high temperature)
